about this blog:

This blog is one that possesses no coherent theme but serves as the plate for my food for thought. And the most wonderful thing about that metaphor is that I do not have to do dishes. I hate dishes...

Sun Myung Moon: It's Not a Conspiracy... Its True

This is the larger-than-life story of Reverend Moon, the billionaire Korean preacher behind the Washington Times, the heart of the GOP media machine... who jet-sets around the world with members of the Bush family... who literally claims to be the Second Coming... to whom D.C. insiders shamelessly pay homage. Years ago, Moon was widely considered a dangerous madman, like Jim Jones or L. Ron Hubbard. He inspired TV specials with names like "Escape From The Moonies." His group earned its notoriety by prying young people from families, persuading them to sell flowers to underwrite Moon's New York mansions and yacht, and marrying his subjects to strangers as a show of domination. Not only is he still around, but he is richer and more influential than ever. In 2004, journalist John Gorenfeld scooped the Washington press corps when he exposed a dinner party on Capitol Hill, in which members of Congress watched as Moon held a ritual coronation for himself as the "King of Peace." Wearing a majestic cape and coronet, the publisher declared himself the Messiah. The New York Times editors compared the event, sponsored by a U.S. senator, to an act of the Roman emperor Caligula.

That, as you might imagine, was just the tip of the iceberg.

Bad Moon Rising takes you into the underbelly of the Religious Right. Which is surprisingly, scandalously entwined with Moon and his business empire -- an untold chapter in American political history.

The grand absurdity is that Moon has become a major patron of conservative politics. And from his seat of respect, he is launching odd, multi-million dollar campaigns of his own to replace Jesus (whom he considers a failure), and attack the wall between church and state; his church, that is.

There's more. The Chicago Tribune has reported that he controls the U.S. sushi industry. He manufactures heavy industry, does business with Kim Jong-Il. And he now officially considers himself Emperor of the Universe, claiming the imagined endorsements of dead U.S. presidents.

Strange sex and violence, power and blasphemy... The author invites you on an arresting journey as he explores the skulduggery with which Moon insinuated himself into Washington's most moralistic circles, with a cast including the Bush family, Jerry Falwell, Left Behind author Tim LaHaye, Richard Nixon, an overseas gangster or two, and the men who built the Religious Right... with more than a little help from Moon.

Read about the state of American democracy in Bad Moon Rising, and you won't know whether to laugh or cry.

Transcending Genius...

Rhythm and Hue is a Performance art show by world renown artist David Garibaldi. Garibaldi creates 6 foot portraits of pop icons, CEO’s, rock stars, sports figures, and more. Each painting is created in a matter of minutes to music.

“As soon as I step on stage I’m all over the place. I’m throwing paint, entertaining the audience, and making sure the portraits still look good. Who said the artist has to stay in the studio? The stage is where I feel the most free,” says David about his unique show. If there are any artists breaking the creative boundaries between the studio and stage, this young 24 year old artist is leading the way.
Performances by David Garibaldi have included celebrities, CEO’s, politicians, pro athletes, and audiences around the world which consist of various concerts, private parties, corporate meetings and other large scale events. Garibaldi can also be seen featured on various networks like MTV, NBC, UPN, PBS, in addition to worldwide publications.
David Garibaldi’s original portraits range from Ray Charles, and John Lennon, to Jay Z, and Bono. Rhythm and Hue is not just art in concert entertainment, but a means to highlight David’s talent as a motivational speaker in addition to his ability to captivate audiences around the world. “I use Rhythm and Hue as a platform to inspire lives, and that is the reason I do this,” says David, he also adds “We all need inspiration sometimes, and no matter what age group attends my shows, they all leave the same....inspired!” David Garibaldi’s Rhythm and Hue has proven to be a total knockout performance, and a show you will never forget.

BOYCOTT THE BEJING OLYMPICS!! WHO'S WITH ME??

::There is a retarded 15 sec commercial in the beginning::

The Chinese Government is full of fucking stupid ass muthafuckas. They use that stupid ass 'Communist' moniker for religious and political suppression while floating that stupid "we are socialists but practice capitalism" bullshit. I cant stand it. I hate China. I absolutely hate them. They suck western dick while waiting to fuck them in the ass. I cant fucking stand it. I dont think I ever felt so strongly about an issue. I hope the Chinese government get absolutely embarrassed this summer in the Olympics. I wont watch a fucking minute of it. Please be aware of this issue, step back from the insignificant things in life and get educated about this issue. Please.

This is a awesome link because in my experience the best information comes from well written and well informed blogs. Journalism is slowly dying and the internet will become the future of responsible journalism (even once reliable sources like the The New York Times and The BBC fall into partisan and biased reporting.) Trust me on that.

You cant do that!!!!

On "America's Best Dance Crew" Kaba Modern was voted into the bottom two along with BreakSk8. And Yuri messed up in Kaba's routine and Lil Mama pointed it out and Yuri started crying (at the 1:40 mark of the video). HOW DARE LIL MAMA MAKE YURI CRY!!! lol, just playin but JabaWockeez are going to win anyway. Shane Sparks one of the other judges usually points out mistakes, he does it I know he points it out when Status Qou messes up, but I guess he felt that Yuri would have a mental breakdown if he pointed it out, lol.

Acceptance through Knowledge...

I had my Midterm Critique the other day, and to be honest it was probably the worst crit I ever had. I mean they criticized every little thing they could find. And by they I mean my Turkish professor and a 5th year student. Our other guest critics, David Brienner the head of 2nd year design and another 5th year student were both late. So im standing up there defending my every move and every aspect of my design. And let me tell you the truth... going into a critique you know whether or not you will do well. You know how much work you put into a work. You know how hard you worked to develop the concept. You know whether or not it works. You know you dont have to bullshit in front of people because your work speaks for itself. All that logic got thrown out the window for me. I mean they absolutely lambasted me. The other design students in my class were in awe and shock too. They liked my design, and were as surprised as me when they bashed me. I mean your telling me I got 27 hours of sleep over a 7 day period to get destroyed???? helll naw....That just totally ruined my day, my week, hell even my upcoming spring break. BUT, I did get a B+ for a midterm grade, which is of some consolation.

These were my drawings:

Concept
WARNING: Things will get REALLY boring from here now...
Ok we had to biuld a rowhouse from two people of different occupations while including a business. So I decided to have a book store on the lower floor and that a Islamic and Jewish professor would live together and run the business. The whole idea is "Acceptance through Knowledge". The idea of the two different religions living together came from the church across the street. I thought that it would be good for the community if there was a place where you could learn about different cultures and different religions. If you look carefully at the model you can see the form of a open book. And the idea that you have step outside of what you already know about other cultures or religions to accept someone. Thats why whenever you move on to the next floor in my house, the stairs lead you outside before they lead you back inside to the next floor. And there is a bunch of other stuff I really dont feel like typing. And apparently my critics hated it.

L.A. Korean Town's Korean culture to be made into a film

the wedding palace

According to the Korean Content News Team:
"A film dealing with the Koreans' unique marriage and family culture as reflected in the marriage of a Korean couple in L.A. Korean Town has begun shooting. The Wedding Palace, the Korean version of My Big Fat Greek Wedding and based on the life of Christine Yoo (Yoo, Mi-Na), the director of the film, is the story of a 29-year-old Korean man working for a U.S. advertising company who is being pressured by his parents to marry before he becomes thirty to put an end to the marriage curse in his family.

"This film is a fun and feel-good romantic comedy that deals with the Koreans' unique marriage culture," said Yoo. "I hope that this film will break the Americans' preconception of the Koreans and will introduce to the world the Koreans' humor and marriage culture."

This film will show not only the family culture of the Koreans who have immigrated to and live in the U.S. but also their pride in the Korean culture. The staffs of the film are currently looking for locations that can serve as the main backdrops of the film, such as hospitals, restaurants, norae-bang (karaoke) bars, and wedding shops in L.A. Korean Town. The film will also tap the people in L.A. Korean Town to be its supporting actors to make the film a community undertaking of L.A. Korean Town.

The Wedding Palace is expected to become the most truthful film about Korean culture in L.A. Korean Town in the U.S. The first scene of the film shows a Korean baby's first birthday party, which shows the Koreans' desire to follow their traditional culture.

Ok, first of all I know west coast culture may be different from us folk here in the east, but are you telling me that L.A.'s Korean Town is that much different from the one in NYC? I mean in NYC we have two Korean Towns -- one in Manhattan, one in Queens -- both of them are they same culture wise. Although many miles separate L.A. from NYC I doubt that the culture is that drastically different. I do not want to assume anything but I will in this case and say that Koreans dry-clean the same way on both coasts. (I wonder if anyone will catch that joke.)

Secondly, movies with loud explosions and special effects put me to sleep while I own every joint Disney/Pixar film ever made. Also I think Lost in Translation is my favorite movie of all time, so take my thoughts on movies with a grain of salt.

Whew, with that disclaimer out the way let me say my expectations on this movie is very, VERY, VERY low, but I feel like the potential that this film has is fascinating.

And he walks away...

Let me just say that this man transcended football. You couldn't but help to root for this man in all his endeavors. I can not think of a person more revered and more respected in the NFL since Walter Payton was toting the ball for the Chicago Bears. Peter King, the best sports writer in the country, (that is fact people not opinion) says it best in his favorite memory of Brett Favre. (read the article, its worth it)

"You're kidding!" I said. "You had that penny in your sock all game?"

"Of course," he said. "She said it'd be lucky."

In 50 years I will be proud to say that I had watched Brett Favre play the game of football.
